The general acid/base region is not easy to align with the entire family member sequences due to a mobile loop. The acid/base residue of one such member (from Bifidobacterium) has been identified. Please see pmids 22738979 and 22451675. I would be happy if you also mention the induced-fit movement of the acid/base loop and the strict substrate specificity for Lewis a/x trisaccharides. (Shinya)
