From 2001-2002 I was research associate in Miroslaw Ciegler's group at the Biotechnology Research Institute in Montreal, Canada. I then joined the group of Bernard Kloareg at the Station Biologique de Roscoff, as a permanent researcher of the CNRS. With Mirjam Czjzek I participated to the development of a crystallography group in Roscoff. I am now member of the group "[http://www.sb-roscoff.fr/UMR7139/en/interaction.html marine glycobiology]" where my research strategy is to combine '''genomics approaches''' with '''structural methods''' to investigate the function of '''novel polysaccharidases''' from marine bacteria and algae. In collab oration with Rudolph Amann's group (MPI Bremen, Germany) and the Genoscope (Evry, France)I have coordinated together with Tristan Barbeyron the genome project of the Flavobacterium ''Zobellia galactanivorans'', a key marine polysaccharide degrader. I also analysed the carbohydrate metabolism in the genome of the model brown alga, ''Ectocarpus siliculosus''.
