Revision as of 05:32, 30 August 2018

Note (January 2018): We are now in full development of our individual CBM pages in CAZypedia and our long-term goal is to have complete coverage of all of the CBM families represented in the CAZy database. This effort was initiated by ^^^Alicia Lammerts van Bueren^^^, together with the Senior Curators, and is now being led by ^^^Elizabeth Ficko-Blean^^^. If you would like to become involved in the development of the CBM pages, please contact ^^^Elizabeth Ficko-Blean^^^ at
.

This page lists all the Carbohydrate Binding Module (CBM) Family pages in CAZypedia that have been given Curator Approved status, as well as those that are currently under construction.

Overview

Carbohydrate-binding modules (CBMs) are non-catalytic proteins with the capacity to bind to soluble and crystalline carbohydrates. CBMs are typically found within a longer protein sequence, co-occurring with catalytic modules of carbohydrate active enzymes, e.g. Glycoside Hydrolases and Polysaccharide Lyases, where they serve to enhance the catalytic activity of the enzymatic module(s) [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. For a comprehensive overview, see the Carbohydrate-binding modules Lexicon page.

Curator Approved

Approve icon-50px.png

These pages have been approved by the Responsible Curator as essentially complete. CAZypedia is a living document, so further improvement of these pages is still possible; please see the individual pages for more information.

There are currently 55 Curator approved Carbohydrate Binding Module (CBM) Family pages in CAZypedia.

Under construction

Under construction icon-blue-48px.png

These pages are currently under construction in CAZypedia. As such, the Responsible Curator has deemed that the page's content is not quite up to CAZypedia's standards for full public consumption. All information on these pages should therefore be considered to be under revision and may be subject to major changes.

There are currently 6 Carbohydrate Binding Module Family pages Under construction in CAZypedia.

Unassigned pages

Blank user-200px.png

The following Unassigned pages are currently lacking a Responsible Curator and one or more Authors. If you are an expert on any of these families and would like to help us improve CAZypedia by getting involved with the production and maintenance of the corresponding page(s), please contact a member of the Board of Curators.

All CBM Family pages not listed above are currently unassigned. Please contact us if you'd like to get involved with the creation of these pages.

Deleted families

Nuvola apps important.png

The following families have been deleted from the CAZy database. Please see the individual CAZypedia pages and links to the corresponding CAZy DB pages for specific explanations.

There are currently 2 pages in CAZypedia that describe Carbohydrate Binding Module families deleted from the CAZy DB.
