My PhD in Biochemistry was completed in 2009 at the University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada, in the laboratory of Dr. ^^^Alisdair Boraston^^^. The focus of this work was mainly on the glycoside hydrolase virulence factors produced by the bacterial pathogen ''Clostridium perfringens''. My first post-doctoral fellowship was a continuation of my PhD work. For my second post-doc, I worked at the Station Biologique de Roscoff in Brittany, France which is associated with the CNRS and the Université Pierre et Marie Curie. During that time I mainly focused on the protein carbohydrate interactions between marine bacteria and seaweed. I am now a permanent scientific researcher at the Station Biologique de Roscoff, studying both the biosynthesis and the breakdown of the complex sulfated cell wall matrix polysaccharides in seaweed. | ||

In 2003 I obtained my BSc in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, where I did my honours thesis project under the supervision of Dr. Natalie Strynadka. My PhD in Biochemistry was completed in 2009 at the University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada, in the laboratory of Dr. ^^^Alisdair Boraston^^^.
