Hsin-Tzu Wang obtained her B.S. and M.S. in Forestry and Resource Conservation based on the study of the mannan synthesis in the model plant, Populus trichocarpa, from National Taiwan University under the supervision of Dr. Ting-Feng Yeh. To further investigate plant cell wall biosynthesis, she joined the research group led by Dr. Breeanna Urbanowicz and Dr. William York at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, focusing on enzymatic characterization and studies of structural insights into the mechanisms of O-acetyltransferases involved in xylan synthesis [1, 2]. She has also participated in the research of enzymes involved in the xyloglucan sidechain synthesis, including galactosyltransferases, galacturonosyltransferases and fucosyltransferases, and authored the GT37 page. Hsin-Tzu Wang is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia.
