After obtaining bachelor's degree at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, I moved to Department of Biomaterials Sciences, the University of Tokyo, where I completed my PhD under supervision of Professor Masahiro Samejima and Associate Professor ^^^Kiyohiko Igarashi^^^. During PhD study, I contributed to characterization of a Glycoside Hydrolase Family 74 xyloglucanase and structural determination of a Glycoside Hydrolase Family 55 β-1,3-glucanase. I'm currently interested in unusual reaction mechanism found in several inverting GH family.
