Welcome to CAZypedia, the encyclopedia of carbohydrate-active enzymes

CAZypedia was initiated in May of 2007, based upon an idea of Professor Emeritus Bruce Stone, LaTrobe University, Australia, to produce a comprehensive encyclopedia of the enzymes that synthesize and degrade carbohydrates. CAZypedia is inspired by, and closely connected with, the CAZy Database maintained by Bernard Henrissat, Pedro Coutinho and colleagues.
