I studied biochemistry and hydrobiology/fisheries at the University of Hamburg, and then started a PhD, under the supervision of Dr. Mirjam Czjzek (France) in the group marine glycobiology at the Station Biologique de Roscoff. My PhD work focused on agarases and porphyranases belonging to GH16. Since march 2010 I am a PostDoc working with ^^^Alisdair Boraston^^^ at the University of Victoria.
